    Company Background

Rehegoo Music Group is a globally recognised music publisher that specialises in producing and distributing the musical work of up-and-coming artists via digital music stores, streaming services and sync platforms. Our fiercely passionate team is driven by a constant thirst for innovation and creativity with an extensive knowledge of cutting-edge developments in the field of music and technology.

To promote the company’s vision, we are launching our own streaming service. The Rehegoo app is a music platform designed for businesses. The platform offers curated playlists for any type of business with the aim to create the perfect ambiance while reflecting the uniqueness of our clients’ brand. The streaming service is just the first step towards the creation of a platform that will serve as the interface between artists and end-users. This is an incredibly exciting time to come on board where you can really make the difference and make your mark on the team’s strategic development.

We believe that the music world should be a democratic space for artists, where their creations are recognised and businesses thrive listening to their music. Our vision is to evolve into a data-informed music platform that brings together artists and businesses to unleash their potential.

    Role Description

We are looking for a Hands-on Software Development Manager to provide sound technical development, management and overall project execution in all aspects of our business. You will collaborate with employees, stakeholders, suppliers and customers, to ensure our company’s technologies are selected, developed and used appropriately.

As well as great technical skills and team leadership abilities, strategic thinking and strong business acumen are very useful in this role.

Currently, most of our systems and products are 3rd party / COTS, so you should be happy working in an environment where you are taking a bigger picture role around managing and integrating these things, rather than building large, individual software systems from scratch with a full-on development team.

The focus of your role will include the following:-

    • Work closely with the CTO and Product Director to evolve the Rehegoo product line, internal systems and processes into a technologically advanced, coherent ecosystem
    • Plan, execute and deliver on several critical projects in a parallel, multi-tasking manner
    • Develop code (Java) to customise and integrate several software systems across music apps, website, Salesforce, ERP, payments and B.I.
    • Bring new product verticals to life, based on business and product strategy
    • Monitor the usage of software systems by staff; ensure correct usage, track and adjust processes, action improvement / customisation suggestions, find new tools and solutions
    • Manage and mentor a small software development / I.T team
    • Manage and deliver projects where development is outsourced to 3rd parties
    • Define and manage project scope, schedule and delivery process
    • Help design the architecture of our ecosystem, e.g. API integrations
    • Ensure the right level of documentation is maintained
    • Build quality assurance and data protection processes
    • Evaluate tools and technologies
    • Work with cybersecurity consultants to ensure system security through pentesting

The skills and experience needed to create your legacy at Rehegoo:-

    • Proven experience as strong lead developer or development manager
    • Built and released products to market as a lead coder
    • Managed 3-5+ developers, ideally across the whole stack
    • Recent hands-on coding experience
    • Want to move more into management, but happy to still spend around 50% of your time coding (will vary according to projects, more to start with, less later)
    • Architecture and design experience, ideally integrating multiple systems
    • Java coding (5+ years)
    • REST APIs
    • Proficiency with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
    • Cloud experience (ideally AWS)
    • 2:1 or above degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

    • Previous experience with streaming service back end / infrastructure
    • PHP coding experience
    • Docker
    • DevOps experience
    • Any experience with front-end coding, e.g. React
    • iOS or Android app development experience
